Why it is important to keep hydrated

We all know that it is critical to ensure we drink enough fluid to ensure we remain hydrated. However with over 60% of the population dehydrated (Source: Gallop) it is clear that whilst we may be drinking plenty of fluids, we are not drinking the right fluids – water.

There are many reasons why drinking water is good for us. Here are some of the reasons why drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day should be part of all our daily routines.

  • Get energised and be alert – even minor dehydration can lead to reduced
    concentration, headaches, irritability and tiredness.
  • Feel healthier – water moisturises the skin, helps flush out toxins and can
help control weight by ensuring body systems such as metabolism and
    digestion function properly.
  • Reduce the risk of serious illness – Research in the US has shown that people
who drink more than 5 glasses of water a day had a lower risk of death from
heart disease than those who consumed only two glasses; and water can help
prevent kidney stones and the reduces the risk of serious infections.

Top quality water from the mains

The quality of drinking water in England and Wales is among the best in the world. Companies providing mains water are the subject of stringent regulations governing their performance and coupled with multi-billion pound investment in improvements at treatment works and to the mains, tap water has hit a new quality high.(Source: Drinking Water Inspectorate). However, the additives put into water, whilst making it safe, can affect its taste. By using a sophisticated filtration system within the machine, the taste will be improved and when chilled, heated or used at room temperature, will provide an excellent drink.

And as the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management pointed out “Bottled water marketing has driven a public perception of bottled waters as purer or healthier than water from the tap. Such perceptions are unfounded.”

And no Health and Safety issues

No bottles to carry or store. With a standard bottle weighing 19kg which requires lifting and turning to install, a risk assessment should be carried out to ensure compliance with the appropriate Health and Safety regulation. With all of our Point of Use coolers there is no lifting risk. Once installed your machine is ready to use and requires you do nothing except enjoy clear, filtered water.
